About Me

Hi from my small but busy kitchen! I grew up with a mom who was always baking!  And boy, could she bake. There were always cakes going to friends and family who needed one. But every once in a while there would be a cake disaster.... a collapse of note and there would be a fight with my siblings as to who was going to eat that cake! They were always the ones that seemed to taste the best. My darling mother would happily 'slap on the icing' (her words, not mine) but had no clue how to decorate. She could, however, make the best royal icing and buttercream and the bowl was always given to me once made and I was told to weave my magic. I loved it. Today I use the same recipes that my late mother used. The same vanilla sponge, the same chocolate sponge, the same Christmas cake............

I love baking and decorating. I love  seeing a new creation emerge from cake! I love seeing the smiles on people's faces when they see what they have been given.
